Hi everyone
Today at Enrich we went to Waihopai River to plant some trees such as flax and toi toi. After we got off the bus we went through a kind of maze. Once we got out we went over to a lady named Anastazia and she taught us how to plant a tree and within 5 mins 20 trees were planted! We did this because if the river ever floods then all the mud will be held in the roots so it doesn't go back in the river, making the water cleaner. Over the entire time we planted 250 trees!
Hello! My name in Mia and I'm back for my final year of Enrich and Primary. I am 10 years old and I love to dance. I go to Saint Theresa's School Invercargill 4 days a week but on Mondays it's a little bit different. I go to a place called ENRICH! A place for gifted kids. Here I have met many new friends and developed my talents and also found more talents such as my loud performers voice. I hope to hear from all my blog readers in the comments bit. Only nice ones though please. Bye from Mia

Hi
Today at Enrich we had passion time and I decided to do science, with my friends Anna and Kate. We made Oobleck (corn flour slime). It's lots of fun (but very messy so be careful), its hard when you punch it and soft when you dig your fingers in it.
Question: Do you know why?
HOW TO MAKE OOBLECK
Ingredients:
Water
Food colouring
Corn flour
A bowl
A spoon
1. Add the food colouring to the water and stir.
2. Put 4-5 dessert spoons of corn flour in the bowl (add more if needed)
3. Add 1 quarter of the cup of water/food colouring into the bowl
4. Stir until gooey
6 Pour into a plastic bag - Make sure lid it is sealed tight.
7. Enjoy
Helpful tips
If it turns solid, add a small drop of water.
To get it into the plastic bag, use a funnel.
Answer: When you punch it all the particles jam together making it solid but if you squeeze it lightly all the particles can move past your fingers.
