Todays the last day at Enrich for me EVER! after three years I'm leaving *takes sad look around room* I'm gonna miss it here.
Three years I've been going here. Have a look at me on my first day, and heres one of me now.

I've changed a lot haven't I!

Well this is my last day 1.12.2014 and I want to thank everyone who has supported me and everyone who has read this taking interest in my good, bad and pointless blogs and I think that everyone who has read these blogs from the beginning will probably put the majority of my blogs in the last two categories! But I'm not going to make this blog all sad so Im going to tell you something special that's happened............................................

KATIE HAD HER BABY ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had a little baby girl, Pippa! Paul showed us a photo and she's so cute! But sadly I'm probably only going to see Katie and Pippa one more time (unless we run into each other at the supermarket or something) at the Enrich@ILT leavers night, which reminds me all the year 6's had to create a slide and if you make sure Bob isn't in the room I'll show you. Alright he's gone here it is...

Hey hey hey ma blogging penguins

I'm back and ready to blog! No I'm not I'm still recovering my breath from a singing/dancing marathon! "Wait why were you singing and dancing you only do that at performance time.... No no no we are not listening to another 5 weeks of performance blogs." Fine don't listen but I'm gonna keep blogging! "BOB! Don't be rude." Oh it's just Bob. We really have to re-lock him up! What who was that? We don't lock up anyone say anything to anyone and you'll go to the closet! Just kidding. Well back to performance we are doing Mariah Carey Christmas songs so far we are doing Santa Claus Is Coming To Town we've already choreographed it all Tessa and I even came up with a dance move, we call it the Shim Sham.

Happy Sad Day

Howdy all my flappy penguins

Sorry for not blogging last week, it was labour day (hope you enjoyed your long weekend New Zealand). Well anyway Today is a sad and happy day - it's Happy because I just finished my second article for the newspaper and today (at the end of this blog) I will tell you about my book yay! As for the sad news (get the tissues) Today is Katie's last day and I don't think I've told you yet but.... Katie's pregnant! Yay! But also boo since today is her last Monday at Enrich for a loooooooooooooooong time *tear*.  For something fun, the Monday kids are having a little competition about the gender/birthday/weight/Name of Katies baby. These are my guesses:
Gender: Girl (just because of the most awesome name that I thought up)
Birthday: 20.11.14 (that's in 17 days!)
Weight: 5.20 lbs (what?)
Name: Mia JR! (don't you dare go all judgy on me!)

It arrived the Thursday before school ended in term 3 (and for those of you that watch the Block NZ, I was acting like Jo after they finished their backyard!) and I might make it public (on Story Jumper) soon if I get 5 people commenting on this saying "Gee Mia I think your great could you pleeeeeeeease show me your book because I absolutely idolize you!"

Hola my flappy penguins

I'm sorry to keep you waiting but hey its a new term and Im busy but its lunch time now so lunch time = blog time (can you tell that I'm just typing random stuff until I think of something interesting to blog about.)

Ooh lightbulb! How could I forget? Its so simple! Its like one of the most interesting things that has ever happened to me! *face palm.* oh ow that knocked the good idea out of me. Oh its coming back um oh, re-lightbulb! *dances around crazy for five minutes* Im sorry if you're currently pulling out your hair (it'll grow back, I promise.)

Im sorry its this new term-viris going around *cough, cough* any way my light bulb moment was...

"MY BOOK ARRIVED!" Sorry about that, Im just so excited and Im going to be evil and not tell you anything until week four (I would tell you next week but next Monday is Labour day.)

And with new terms come new goals and this term my goal is........

don't worry Im not that mean. 

My goal for this term is to give 230% at every thing I do (yes I know thats not possible but I'm trying to prove a point)

Yes yes I know - I've been talking about it a lot and and I've put A LOT of false alarms up here but I'm onto the final edit (say it in the tune of the final countdown tune it makes it sound AWESOME!)

Im back! Did you miss me?

Hi there all my flappy penguins

All you frequent flappers will know all about my book and all of those first time flappers should go read about it - don't worry it shouldn't be hard to find its in pretty much every blog from this term AND last term go on take a look otherwise the rest of this blog just won't make any sense go on look you know you want to! Are you back yet? Oh good I was wondering if you'd ever come back, well now that everyones up to date on my book you will know that I've finished my book and now all I need to do is buy a copy and I'm finished oh you didn't know that, sorry I forgot I didn't do a blog last week! Well I have finished writing and publishing but as you heard I need to buy it thats right buy it and its $25 for a hard cover and around $15 for a paperback it might be a while so if your waiting for a copy it might be a little pricier than you first thought!

Hello my Flappy Penguins

Field trip! Thats right my flappy dears - mama Penguin left the nest and flapped all the way down to the library with Aunty Nicola! Alright.  Enough of the penguin talk.

Today the Newspaper crew went to the library (if you read last weeks post then you'll know what I'm talking about.  If you didn't then I suggest you go read it!) We went to the library to look at newspapers! Yes I know what you're thinking - wow they're so interesting - I wish I could be that awesome.

You're not? You're thinking the opposite? Well if you don't think this is interesting then go read someone else's blog and I'll just tell the people that care about me about how my book is going! Well to all those that do care I've started publishing and since you've all been so nice I'll give you a sneak peak!

Its Easter morning and Betty can't find her parents!

Enrich@ILT newspaper

Yay yay yay!
Guess who's going to be writing for the Enrich@ILT newspaper, second edition! Me that's who, oh you already guessed that? Way to ruin a mood! But this year only 30 kids of the 165 kids at Enrich@ILT were chosen! I can't wait until I'm back in the performance room on the computer looking at old newspapers and seeing what we might need in our paper. Alright it might not sound like much but if you read the last edition of the Enrich@ILT paper you'll know that eight weeks in the performance room really pays off, and by reading the posts I do for the next few weeks you will see how fun it is or at least how fun I think it is!

You would? (excited scream) Well I'll let you in on a little secret.... the writer is me and I am actually writing a book. 

Oh you're not going to read it now because you think that it'll just be another autobiography and you hear enough about my life already through my weekly blogs?

 Well now I'm sad for two reasons..... oh and now you just expect me to tell you the other reason that I'm sad because this is my weekly blog and I'm supposed to tell you everything about my day here at Enrich?  Well I'm not!

Oh so it was just your annoying friend Bob that was mean, you say? Oh well in that case I'm sad because this is the last week of term:(! 

Boo Hoo! Today has been full on with one whole hour devoted to Passion Project in which I finished my book Yay and since you all want to read here it is.........

Im back from my Hawaiian holiday, three weeks of lying on white sand beaches surfing those narley waves and shopping, shopping, shopping! Reality check Im back at home in my onsies drinking hot chocolate and watching movies!

But one of the perks is that now Im back and blogging (well now that its been found). Wow its been almost 2 months since I last actually blogged! Where has the time gone? Well speaking of things back from dead... at Enrich we're learning about people who are dead! Sound creepy? Well it's not were finding out things about our ancestors, such as when they immigrated to New Zealand or where did they come from or did they receive any awards such as one of Tessa's relatives who won a gold medal in the Olympics!

Glad you asked. A brain workout is "a workout for your brain".

Yes thank you random blog reader that some how shouted through the screen.

Yes, it's stretching your brain to make you smarter and it works whether your gifted or if you have had a stroke or something. One of the "easy" tasks we did was this:

Exercise one: read the word.

Exercise two: say the colour of the written word.

It's harder than you think.

Informercial Hour With Mia!

Have you ever felt like some school rules can be boring and unnecessary? 

Like perhaps your not allowed to be inside unless it's raining?

Or seniors aren't allowed to play with juniors because they need to find friends their age?

Or no talking in class?

Well what if there's a really cold wind and you just have to stand outside shivering because your teacher locked you out?

Or what if your just helping one of the little kids find a friend or playing with them because they're lonely?

 And what if your just leaning over to ask for a pencil or something else work-related?

The point is, is that some school rules seem like they're unnecessary but they're really there for the greater good. Like teachers don't want you inside if it's a lovely sunny day, or some kids become too attached to their big friends that they don't even bother to find friends of their own, and nobody likes working in a class room that sounds like an elephant on steroids!

Well that's what we did for our brain booster today, the perspective key. It was all about school rules the ones we like the ones we don't and the ones we would like to change. Most people talked about school uniforms and how they're not allowed to wear coloured jewelry or how the uniforms are too dark and on hot days you just sweat and sweat like anything and others said that they were just plain boring. If they were Principal you would be allowed to wear whatever you wanted as long as you wore something!

thats the case with the brand new app we used today, Aurasma .

For those of you that don't know what Aurasma is, its an app that turns a ordinary picture into a interactive video clip!

If you've seen any of the Harry Potter films you would have notice how all the photos move thats a lot like Aurasma. There are certain images that will work so you can't just take a random photo and scan it. Her's how to create your own Aura. 

So first you take a video on your camera (make sure its saved). Then go onto Aurasma and click on the little triangle 'A'. 

Then a little new page on top of the Aurasma page should appear. Press the plus button down the bottom which will take you to a different page again. This time in the top left hand corner there will be white '+' in a purple square click on it and select camera roll. Choose what video you want to use and give it a name.  Last step, take a photo preferably one of something that will stay like that  FOREVER and take a pic. Then you just need to name it again and load it and your good as gold. The only thing you must be careful of is if you make it public anyone in the world can see it whereas if its private only your device can access it!

Hello my flappy penguins

I'm back and ready for another fun filled year of Enrich and blog posting!

This is my third week at Enrich for this year. Last week instead of writing a post we updated the blurb at the top of the blog as you can see it no longer says that I am a year 5 in my second year at Enrich. I'm a year 6 in my third year at Enrich!!

Anyway Today at Enrich we did a thinkers key session with Nicola! We did personal key witch was a big rush since we had to do a 1/2 an hour session in 15 minutes!
