Hey guys Mia here with the last post of the year!

This is just going to be a quick post as were leaving soon to PERFORM!!

And if it looked like I yelled thats it's because I did, I'm just so exited, and for those who live in Invercargill it would be a good time to take you lunch break and go to rain cafe and have a look at the people preforming, especially the small girl with her in a plait who is also Brumbly the elf.

Drum roll please........

Im back and ready to blog!

Hello all you blog readers! Just to let you know,  I have not been ignoring you - I just wasn't here last week I was at a practice for a choir.  This was a choir that performed at the Civic in Invercargill.  We performed in a show.

It's Wednesday (imagine me singing that) so ENRICH! YAY!

It's 12:30 lunch time so we're halfway through the day.... we may only be halfway through the day,  but we've accomplished quite a bit.  I have almost finished my gifted study (which as you should know is about WALT DISNEY - inventor of Mickey Mouse and mega famous DISNEYLAND) I just have to put his death on the timeline and say how he used habits of mind such as persisting-sticking to a task

 and 

applying past knowledge to new situations- for example, you learnt something last week a maths strategy or something then you have a math test and you use that strategy.

We also did Singing 201 (imagine that with some cool backing track) and Nicola was giving out solos and guess who got the 

"We Wish You A Merry Christmas" solo? Drum roll please (dum dum dum dum chic)

Singing 201

Hi!

We're back - it's week 2 of term 4

Sorry for not posting last week - we were just so busy and didn't get enough time!

Oh and I almost forgot something...

Don't worry it's good news actually - no it's not good news it's great news - you know how when one door closes another one opens? That is so true because when the performance door closed at the end of Term 3, the singing 201 door opened. (Well actually, they are both the same door as they are both done in the performance corner but you get what I mean don't you?) 

Anyway - I bet you don't know what singing 201 is. 201 is like 101 but 101 is for beginners, and 201 is for experienced people.  So for singing 201,  it's for the people who were in performance (but not just performance people as Rhea decided to join us today.)

Anyway for singing 201 we're doing some christmas caroling.....    so we're doing an 8 minute medley of christmas songs such as Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls. Nicola says we will be christmas caroling around Windsor-Invercargill so you might want to come and watch possibly? Another thing we will be doing is singing

Silver Linings

Hello blog readers (sorry for not posting last week I was at Sing Out!)

Well today is last day of term 3 meaning I only have 
1 year 1 term 2 and a half hours and 20 seconds 19 seconds 18 seconds.... left at Enrich=( (and counting)

But let's not focus on the sad things - but one last sad thing to get out of my system IT'S THE LAST DAY OF PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
'Sniff sniff' its sooooooo sad but at least we get to do passion projects yay. I guess? 

But like I said, let's not focus on the bad things in life! Let's focus on the good things like the end of this term means the start of term 4 - and a opportunity to do more of the awesome things we do at Enrich.

Passion projects 

Me and 2 of my besties ANNA and TESSA are thinking of putting together a little CD of original GarageBand music but we're not sure yet so don't place any orders. So I guess every cloud has its silver lining!

9:00 am at school ready for choir practice 

9:30 at choir practice singing my heart out!

1:15 TALENT DEVELOPMENT (yay)

1:20 dance practice learning all of the verses to one of our awesome songs 

2:30 blogging (which is what Im doing right now.)


Does that seem tiring to you? Well it is when you have to practice 15 songs! But it's fun if you enjoy singing!

It was the dancing that really took it out of me...... 
I am a dancer so when Nicola told me it would be really tiring I thought I'm a dancer so it shouldn't be too bad.
But I was wrong - very wrong - in fact,  I'm still panting right now.  I'll let one thing slip about the dance and it's that there is a lot of jumping and that's why I'm sooo tired! Looking forward to my bed tonight!

Hello my name is Olivia Im 4 years old and this is a day in the life of me - I named this story I always get what I want because I do! Its very true - all I have to do is scream and cry a bit!

We arrived at the farm at 1:30pm (Im very smart aren’t I, I can tell the time) We looked for a while then I saw the one I wanted..... she’s taller than me (only a bit though) I pointed at her  and said to Dad “I want her” in a lispy baby vioce 

and guess what he said?  No! but then I screamed my heart out like “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” I screamed so much I turned purple.  Dad thought I was choking and then I screamed “PONY I WANT PONY” then he had to say yes because we were drawing a crowd. He forked out the $1,000 for her. I called her Daisy.

Hello 

Today we did mind mapping

It's not the ordinary old form of mind-mapping where we put a word in a bubble and put lines around the bubble.

It's more like put a picture in the middle and put branches around the picture.

We did a mind map about our gifted person we have chosen for our study about gifted adults. For mine I have chosen

Hi guys 

Sorry for not posting for the last few weeks, but I'm here now, and posting

Today, I got to be a DJ for a day :)

Well not the whole day, as its not even lunch yet but Im planning to be one for the rest of the day:)

This probably doesn't make sense right now so I will explain: It started off as any normal day at Enrich, then after morning tea there was passion time (still normal). Since I'm in performance its important for me to learn about rhythm and that kind of thing, so for half an hour we were allowed to go on garageband and make a song type of thing. So we did, then halfway through my song I realised that creating beats is really fun. I like doing it, so now I don't know but I might be a DJ:)

Zoom went the car as we raced to Enrich, we were late-very late I looked at my watch 12:00 o-clock PM. This may look bad but not at all, I just had choir practice for sing out which if you live                round Invercargill I hope to see you at. Yay calligraphy, so after        lunch we learnt calligraphy it was our rotation time but we just            had a small class today (13) so we all did calligraphy. We first         started with normal lettering then onto some strokes then onto the             real lettering. I'm not very good at it but I can do it.                       

                                                                                                             

Now for the final bit, a poster.  It is like a wordel or something           along those lines but I'm choosing to do either a wordel about           happiness or a picture with a message like...

I'm so excited!

Would you read a newspaper made by us the kids of Enrich@ILT?

Well I hope you said yes because we (the kids of Enrich) are publishing a newspaper!

So if you're in the Invercargill location look out for it! 

I'm so excited! I've been been smiling so much that my cheek muscles are hurting, but I cant stop - in fact I'm smiling now (ahhh). Why, you ask?
YAY! Im doing an interview with a professional lawyer in the Enrich neighborhood - Mr Fergus More.  

There is also another reason why Im excited because were performing our monologues today.  If you read my last posts you would know that I am Alice from Alice in Wonderland. I'm also nervous, so please wish me luck.

DRAMA,DRAMA,DRAMA

Ahh.. frantic, frantic, frantic!

Quickly quickly quickly, tiiiiimes up! I take a look at Joey, Tessa Rhea and my attempt at using our bodies to make a car (but in ten seconds its a little hard)

Here you try it.  Ok,  you need four people and in ten seconds get yourselves into a car made only of your bodies (not as easy as it sounds)

Then we did a washing machine - that was sooo much fun! That exercise is called spatial drama and the other was called psychological drama.  This exercise (called There's Only One Liar) goes like this...

So there's a circle. One person in the circle goes around the circle and taps one person on the shoulder each round,  then each person in the circle thinks of one person in the circle who they think got tapped, and then they point at them.

 SPOILER ALERT!

ok now only the person who's tapping the shoulders read this bit ok so now in the first round you tap nobody then in the second round tap everybody so you will be the one liar.

Sorry didn't realise you were here, today in performance we needed to do a monologue and guess which one I chose? No?
You can't get it?  I'll give you a bit more "I didn't realise rabbit holes were so dark and so long and so empty"

Now, can you guess it? If you still cant I'll give you a bit more at the end. Do any of you know what a monologue is? For those who don't, a monologue is like a short bit if a play when the character talks about how they are feeling.

Extra clue: my character is annoyed because the rabbit wont listen to her. Now do you know? OK final bit of info

Surprise

Hi!

No its not my birthday :(

But anyway today was awesome and it started a bit like this...

I came in yes and said hello to my friends and out of the corner of my eye it was bright, it was poofy, and it was colourful. Guess what they were? Petticoats! And one further surprise, a couple of the people, most likely girls, have to wear them while doing the cancan!

So we have to do the cancan in big poofy dresses so now we will skip ahead a couple of hours to morning tea and I dont know how but we convinced Nicola and Katie to put the petticoats on! Ha! 

So skip ahead half an hour and it's performance time. We learnt a new warm up BIG bootie. So you get a group of people together and you each get a number, then 1 person is BIG bootie. Once youve got that sorted, you go like hands on the desk or something flat (your knees) and clap you do that 2 times while BIG bootie is saying BIG bootie, BIG bootie then after 2 times you put your hands out and BIG bootie  says the rest then repeats it but instead of saying rest you say one person's number, for example 3 and number 3 becomes BIG bootie. 

Now I will tell you what the surprise was at the very end. Nicola said 1 person could try on all of the petticoats. But there was a catch... All of them had to be on at the same time, but being the skinnyest it was be YAY me! So I wore five petticoats! Four on my body and one on my head! The one on my head was small and white and the ones on my body went in this order yellow, pink, green and red heres a picture:

If that looked like I was yelling, it's because I just did!

I just still can't believe it GRRRRR! I don't know when but all of the Enrich e-mails got hacked so everyone got spam e-mails=( so we all had to change our passwords too.

I'm sorry I can't tell you because, well it's a password!

We were only told an hour ago but it's still unbelievable that someone would do that =(

Anyway now onto more positive =) things like...

TALENT DEVELOPMENT, chess, TALENT DEVELOPMENT, affective domain and TALENT DEVELOPMENT. 
As you can see I like TALENT DEVELOPMENT, sorry it's just too AWESOME not to have in capitals because everyone knows important things go in capitals! So now you expect me to talk about TALENT DEVELOPMENT don't you, well I don't want to!

Just kidding we learnt a NEW song and well NEW is an important word and I'm not repeating myself so just look up! OK so you want to hear a bit of the song do you? Well OK. 
"Like an eagle I will soar above the clouds, I will spread my wings and fly in to the sun" and that's all I'm telling you right now.

Have you ever heard of Queen?

Today we did talent development and I did performance group.

It just keeps on getting better but if you read my last post you would have thought we were doing 'River Deep, Mountain High' but no were not anymore in stead for our big song were doing "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen you might have heard it from the lotto ad
"Don't stop me now cos I'm having a good time, having a good time!" Well if you haven't then you should because its a good song! Were also doing "Taller, Stronger, Better by Guy Sebastian.It's a slow song but its a good song. But we have 1 more song "Oh my" by Gin Wigmore

Performance Group

Hello

Laaaaaaaaaaaa - sorry just practicing for the performance group.
You should hear us!
Performance is going great, and today we started on our first song River Deep Mountain High. 

We also did lots of warm up games like H.A.S.H and beans

H.A.S.H stands for Happy, Angry, Sad and Happy
so you count to 20 in those emotions like this...

when she calls out string beans be as skinny as you can be and when she calls out French beans stick out your hand like in Im a little tea pot and say "Oo la la"

Performance Group

Hello                                                                                                    
Today at Enrich we did talent development.  I decided to go in       the performance group with Nicola as the teacher. We had to       audition so we had to sing, dance or recite a poem.  I sang              Getting Over You by David Guetta with my friend Tessa.            
 Then because we had done a duet we each had to sing a line          like..........................................................                                                
Tessa: all the things I know right now                                                 
Mia: if I'd only knew back then                                                        
Tessa: there's no getting over                                                              
Mia: there's no getting over etc etc.                                                   
                                                                                                             
By the end of next term we will be out performing so watch out for us if you're in Invercargill!

patterns

Enrich was action packed today!

Today we went to Queens Park to look at what type of patterns are in our area, we saw all different types of patterns like random ones like some toothpicks somebody dropped! 
 My buddy Norton and I were taking pictures of all the patterns we could find. There are 5 types of patterns beauty, order, strength,survivability and random. 
We also went to the rose garden, the aviary, the duck pond and the animals. At the rose garden we took pictures of all the pretty roses. Then we went to the animal enclosure and we saw Auckland Island pigs which surprisingly didn't stink!And finally to the aviary which was loaded with different types of birds!

 The whole purpose of this trip was to see what types of patterns are in our area!

Drama

Hi all

Today was action packed! We did DRAMA it was tons and tons of fun we played 1 word story, when there are 3 people each standing in a line and you need to make up a story and you only get to say one word at a time.

Example 
3 players Billy, Sharon and Jarred 
Billy : koalas Sharon :like Jarred :food
like that then it continues until some one says 2 words or takes more than 20 seconds to say a word.

Why we do it 
To help us to be creative, think outside the box and think on our feet.

Today we also had Talent Development tasters.  I chose Maths which was probability and all about percentages.

Patterns

Hi

It's been a great day at Enrich today we did concept curriculum which was patterns, we did a sheet about different types of patterns like:  Do patterns repeat?yes/no I think yes and no because you can have order patterns like the sun it follows a pattern sun rise sun set sun rise sun set and then there's random patterns like at the class room we have a pattern of colours blue red yellow and white but they don't go in an order so its a pattern but its not in any order:  Do patterns change? yes/no I think yes because behavior patterns like when you are a toddler you can cry and cry to get a chocolate bar, but when you get older like in adulthood if you kick and scream on the ground to get a chocolate bar chances are your not going to get it. We also talked about different types of patterns there are 4

beauty, order, strength and survivability, and to remember them think BOSS B-beauty O-order S-strength and S-survivability.
